Chapter 3

Reyansh's POV:

After working for 18 hours straight I was finally going back to my penthouse. I prefer to indulge myself in work, it might be weird for some but for me, work is my coping mechanism. I parked my car in my private garage and moved to my private elevator, I punched the floor and the lift started moving. When I came out of the elevator, that opened directly in my penthouse, I saw all the lights were already turned on.

Only a few people know the passcode, and that means it's only my grandfather and my best friend; honestly, the latter would be less exhausting for me right now.

I moved inside .

"So finally you are back." I heard a dominating voice and I instantly knew who it was.

"I think so," I replied blandly moving towards him.

He was sitting on the sofa with his back towards the entrance.

"Don't you care about yourself even a bit? Don't you care about your family?" He asked slowly in his old voice.

I sat on the sofa in front of him. He was sitting on the sofa with the demeanour of a king. One leg is casually crossed over the knee of the other, exuding confidence and authority. In one hand, he is holding a stick, which he grasps firmly, while his other hand rests comfortably on the armrest of the sofa. His posture is relaxed yet commanding, giving off an air of power and control. He is old yet he still radiates a powerful and dominating aura– a trait I believe I have inherited from him.

"I live here alone and at what time I go or when I come back is no one's concern. And what family are you talking about?" I asked rudely.

He sighed and said

"Why don't you get married, my child? Then you will have someone for whom you'll want to come back early."

"I don't need anyone and forget about my marriage," I replied firmly.

"I am your grandfather and I can't sit and watch you destroy your life." He yelled

And continued "You are not realising right now but you will realise after 10-15 years that everyone needs a companion in life."

I started having a headache. First I was working in my office for 18 hours straight and now this marriage and bullshit.

"I don't want to listen to anything more," I said and stood up and started moving towards the stairs.

"Reyansh Malhotra if you don't get married soon then you'll not get a single penny from my inheritance." He threatened me from behind.

I stopped in my tracks and turned back.

"Mr. Omveer Malhotra, you can do whatever you want to do with your money, I don't need a single penny but if you think you can scare me and get me married, then you are wrong," I replied in the same tone as his with a smirk.

I wouldn't have come back if I had the idea that he might be here. Whenever we talk the conversation always ends with us arguing about my marriage.

"I am going to my room and you can go back whenever you want,"

"But you care about Malhotra Empire right?" He asked

I looked up at him with a frown on my face, I didn't utter a word in reply.

He continued "Then listen my dear grandchild if you don't get married in two months then forget about it as well."

"You can't do that, I have put my blood and sweat to bring that company to the position it is today. Your company would be nothing without me. You can't destroy my hard work." I yelled

"Stop yelling, and I have already told you my decision now rest is up to you." With this, he left my penthouse.

Leaving me fuming in anger.

"He can't do that. He can't let my hard work go in vain. HE CAN'T, HE CAN'T, HE CAN'T." I shouted and broke the vase which was placed on the centre table.

My anger issues are something which I don't have control over so I punched the centre table which was made of glass and it shattered, small pieces of the glass scattered all around the living area.

After destroying my living area, I sat on the sofa with hands on my knees, blood was dripping from my hands but I didn't care about it, my all thoughts were consumed by only fucking one shit.

MARRIAGE.
