Reyansh's POV:
Now I desperately need to drown myself in alcohol to feel better. I quickly took out my phone from my pocket and dialled a number.
“I need you to meet me at Blackjoy in 30 minutes.” saying this I cut the call.
I stood up and grabbed my blazer but the blood on my hand stained it. I went upstairs, washed my hands, applied a bandage and changed into another pair of suit.
Grabbing the key of my Aston Martin on the way I left my apartment and moved to the elevator. I hastily settled in my car and drove at full speed. I reached our destination in 25 minutes.
I was waiting for the person I called in front of the back door because the paparazzi always make it hard for me to enter from the main one.
After 5 minutes the person was there.
“When will you become punctual?” I asked as soon as he was in my sight.
“Chill bhai, I was stuck in traffic.” He replied.
“Yeah of course, but the smell of alcohol says otherwise,” I said.
Karan Mittal, one of my close friends or you can even call him my best friend, is a good looking guy, with a height of 6ft, he has a great physique and broad shoulders and can pull any girl he wants. He owns a multinational company just like mine but his company deals in luxury goods. And he is always stuck in traffic just as now.
“Uhmm, shall we go inside or you have changed the plan?” He tried to change the topic and I am no saint to have any opinion or say anything to him on this, so I started moving inside.
I have booked the whole VVIP area because I hate unnecessary nuisance.
I ordered whisky for me and Karan.
After chugging I don’t know how many glasses of whisky I was finally at calm but peace? Never experienced what it is, or how it feels.
After a while Karan got busy with some urgent business mails so I moved towards the railing of the VVIP floor. It's on the 1st floor. With a glass of whisky, I stood there and looked down, the drunk crowd was dancing to the beat. I find dancing a silly hobby. But then something or to be specific someone caught my eyes. A girl wearing a short red dress was swaying her hips on the beat and I was mesmerised by her moves.
I never found someone attractive and I am not saying I am attracted to her but just curious to see her face. And when I thought she would turn back I received a call, after seeing the caller ID I couldn’t decline because it was off my assistant.
“Hello sir, sorry to disturb you but I was trying to reach you for quite a time but your phone was switched off.” He started explaining as soon as I picked up his call.
I switched off my phone after informing Karan and switched it on just a while ago.
“Why did you call?” I asked
“You asked me to fix a meeting with B&S Enterprises’s Baani Roy and after looking at your schedule I fixed it for tomorrow morning.
Is that okay with you?” He asked professionally.
“It’s okay and if you don’t have anything to inform I am cutting the call,” I said authoritatively.
“No sir, thankyou.” He replied and with that, I cut his call.
After I put my phone back in my pocket, I looked down and there wasn’t a single trace of that girl now.
I moved away from the railing and sat on the couch.
After a while Karan came back and we had a few more drinks and decided to go back to our places.
I didn’t tell Karan anything about what my grandfather said.
Once I reached my penthouse I straight away went to my room and laid down on the bed.
And when I was finally relaxed I suddenly remembered what my grandfather said.
I can’t marry someone, marriage is a bullshit concept. It not only destroys the couple's life but also everyone involved and if they have kids then it snatches the kids’ childhood as well. I can’t let someone come into my life and destroy everything.
“As if there’s still something left to get destroyed.” My subconsciousness mocked and I ignored it.
But I can’t lose my company. I worked my ass to bring it to the position it is today.
I continuously thought about it which resulted in me getting a really bad headache.
I didn’t even realise it was already 5 o’clock until my alarm went off.
I didn’t get a single ounce of sleep the whole night.
I got up from my bed and changed into my gym wear and went to my personal gym built in my penthouse.
I was running at a speed of 25mph while thinking about the same thing that had stuck in my mind since last night.
MARRIAGE.
Finally, after an hours when I was out of breath, I stopped.
I went to my room to get ready for the day. I was still fuming in anger because of last night's conversation with my grandfather.
I took a shower and got ready in black formals.
I don’t have a favourite colour but I find colours other than black, blue and grey too bright because of which I don’t like them but I do wear other colours sometimes as well.
Once I was completely ready I went downstairs to prepare my breakfast.
I have servants for everything but when some unexpected circumstances occur which ruin my mood just as last night then I prefer to cook on my own.
I made black coffee and toasted bread.
With the last sip of my coffee and a glance at the ticking clock, I grabbed my keys and slid into the sleek embrace of my Aston Martin. The engine roared to life, and I pressed the pedal to the floor, speeding down the road with unrestrained speed. The world passed by in a blur of motion. Within just five minutes, I pulled into the office driveway.
I moved out of the car, gave the keys to the valet to park the car and moved inside.
I came across some employees who greeted me politely and formally but I ignored everyone.
I don’t pay them to greet them every morning.
I went towards my private elevator where no one else was allowed except me.
I punched the floor on which my cabin is and took out my phone.
The elevator stopped on the floor and I moved out, still my eyes were fixed on the screen of my mobile.
And soon I was in my cabin sitting on the chair of my desk.
….Knock Knock…
“Come in.” I replied once I heard the knock on the door.
I looked at the door to find my secretary standing at the enterance
“Good Morning Sir.” He greeted formally
I nodded in reply.
“Sir I have a few files that you need to review once and then sign them.” He told showing the files in his hands and continued
“And you even have a meeting with B&S Enterprise’s Ms. Baani Roy at 10 today.”
“Yes I do remember that. Do we have any more eligible proposals except this one?” I asked him authoritatively.
“We got many proposals and to make your work easy I viewed their past works and sorted the best ones and unfortunately we are left with only two. One is B&S Enterprise and the other is Kapoors & Co.” He informed me
“Good.” I replied appreciating his thoughtfulness.
He smiled
“Let’s finish this work soon, as the event is in 2 months, so arrange a meeting with someone from Kapoors & Co also.” I ordered
“Sir, Kapoors & Co.’s CEO personally want to meet with you, and they have requested us to arrange a meeting with them soon. If it’s convenient for you, I can schedule the meeting with them this afternoon or evening.” He proposed
“Schedule a meeting with him in the afternoon.” I instructed.
I want to get done with this so I can give my complete attention to my work. I’ll be getting “Best Businessman Of The Year” Award after 2 months and since it is considered to be a great award then I am supposed to throw a party which should not be less than any grand event.
After he went away I indulged myself in my work.
After the work was done I glanced at my watch and it was already 9:55 a.m.
I opened my phone and found a message from my grandfather.
Mr. Omveer Malhotra: I was not joking about what I said last night. I am serious about that Reyansh, 2 months it is.
I felt anger rushing in my veins. What is it about him wanting to get me married?
I was still looking at the message but I didn’t reply.
I heard a knock on the door.
“Come in.” I said still thinking about last night and this message.
I heard the sound of someone’s step, a female’s. I identified it because of the sound of heels but I didn’t turn around or acknowledge it.
“Good morning, Mr. Malhotra.” I heard a feminine voice, as sweet as honey. But this sweetness seemed genuine, not fake.
I looked up and my eyes got locked with a pair of dark brown ones. I would have mistaken the color of her eyes as black and missed their true color if they hadn’t shone in the sunlight.
There stood a woman in all white formal attire. She looked like peace, or maybe not as I have never experienced what peace looked like. Her big doe eyes were complimenting her perfect nose and plum lips. She was B&S Enterprises’ CEO, Baani Roy. I have never met her, but I knew who she was as I have done research on her. I did research on everyone involved or planning to get involved in my business or my life.
I greeted her back and asked her to settle down.
Once she was seated, she started presenting all the details. She was somewhat confident but I have seen more confident women in industry than her.
She was done after a while and once I acknowledged her work she started filling some form on her laptop for record purposes.
I was looking at her moves keenly. After typing some words she stopped typing and became anxious.
She looked up from her laptop slowly and suddenly passed her laptop to me.
I raised an eyebrow.
“Mr. Malhotra it would be a pleasure of mine if you could fill the form for our record purposes. Our company would be delighted to know that you filled the form.” She replied to my unasked question with a sheepish smile.
What the fuck is this woman?
I looked at the screen and saw the block required my name and I understood everything. She has not addressed me other than Mr. Malhotra since she arrived while I did address her by her first name. I thought it would have been due to professionalism but she fucking forgot my name.
When I didn’t take her laptop she was pulling it back. I took it from her and filled in all the details in a second.
“It was nice to meet you Ms Baani. My secretary will inform you about my decision soon.” I told her, standing up.
She also stood up.
“We would be delighted to hear a positive response from you.” She replied with a smile.
I hate it when people smile unnecessarily.
She gave me a nod and started moving towards the door.
“By the way, Reyansh Malhotra it is Ms Baani Roy.” I don’t know why I told her my name, as if it even fucking matters to me if she knows my name or not.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at me.
“It was a pleasure to meet you, Mr Reyansh Malhotra,” She replied, again with a smile.
Why does she smile so much?
I nodded and she went away. I was looking at all the details my secretary mailed me about her company. When I again heard a knock.
Once I replied with a come in, the door opened.
“Good morning Mr. Reyansh Malhotra.” This time I was greeted by a masculine voice.
I nodded and gestured to him, to sit. My quota for greeting people back for today has been full.
The man seated opposite to me was Abhimanyu Kapoor, CEO of one of the best event managing company of our country.
He also provided all the necessary details I needed to know.
I was impressed by his work more than Ms. Roy’s.
We were interrupted by a knock on the door. I hate it when people interrupt me between my work. But nonetheless I replied, allowing the person to enter.
I saw Baani enter from the door.
“I am really sorry for disturbing you but…” She stopped when her eyes landed on the man sitting opposite to me.
Her eyes flared with anger and annoyance while the other man was looking at her with a smirk and something else.
Ms Roy was least interested in looking at him. As she turned her attention to me after giving him a glare.
“I am so sorry Mr Reyansh but I forgot my purse somewhere over here.” She addressed me by my first name, searching for her purse.
“It’s rude to address your client only by their first name Ms Roy. I thought you had better manners than that.” Abhimanyu commented.
She royally ignored his comment and grabbed her purse when she found it.
“Thankyou and once again sorry Mr. REYANSH.” she thanked me, emphasising on my name and moved to leave after giving a final glare at Abhimanyu.
Unknowingly a smirk crept on my face .
Soon after she went away Abhimanyu was also done with the details and left.
I found his work better and maybe I will seal the deal with him.
BUT I DON’T TAKE DECISIONS HASTILY, SO I WILL GO THROUGH EVERYTHING ONCE MORE.
